I can’t believe it’s been nine days since I last logged in a wrote something. I have been pretty busy working on websites following up on leads and job interviews.
One thing that is on the minds of many is the economy. I have spoken with several business owners, small businesses with just a few employees and they are concerned. I am not sure the economy is as bad as Obama and McCain would like us to believe. Many companies are taking a “wait and see” approach.
This I believe is more dangerous than people see. Because now who ever, or what ever business, makes a hard push forward they will be so much ahead of the “wait and see” crowd. There is a guy here in St. George that everytime he hears people start to talk recession he pulls out his piggy bank and starts expanding. He own’s an Ace Hardware store. He was the only hardware store in St. George at one time. One of his friends pointed this out to me about 15 years ago, just as we were going into the recession in the early nineties. Then again right after the dot com collapse he was expanding again. But when the economy was going gang busters his store was unchanged. Well again we are heading into some rough times and you guessed it his store is a mess and there is a bunch of expanding going on. I never thought he would survive. He has to compete with a Lowes, Home Depot and two super Wal-Marts.
When the economy is good he is waiting and seeing. And as soon as things start to head south he is jumping in and moving forward. While everyone else is “Waiting and Seeing.”
Another good example of this is the story of Joseph in the Bible. He saw that during the years of plenty they should save. Then during the years of famine they opened up their stores and sold, gaining a huge advantage over the rest of the world.
I need to pay more attention to these things.

for some reason when I saw the title of your post, I thought of Ferris Buehler being absent “Nine Times”.
